Track Your Token Usage in Elephas
Token Tracking Made Simple
The Quick Token Stats feature helps you track how many tokens you’re using — both for Indexing and Chat — right inside Elephas, without needing to switch screens.
What are Tokens?
- Indexing Tokens → Used when you upload and index your files, notes, or web pages into your Brain.
- Chat Tokens → Used when you interact with your Brain or AI through the chat interface.
Tokens are the “units” Elephas uses to process and understand your data.
Where to Find It
- Located at the bottom-left corner of your Elephas window.
- The indicator adapts to the tab you’re on:
- Indexing Tokens (%) → visible when the Brain tab is selected (tracks file indexing usage).
- Chat Tokens (%) → visible when the Chat tab is selected (tracks chat query usage).
Example
- If Indexing Tokens shows 17%, it means you’ve used 17% of your allocated indexing tokens.
- If Chat Tokens shows 1%, it means only a small fraction of your chat limit has been used.
💡 Tips
- Keep an eye on the percentages to manage your usage efficiently.
- If you’re running low, consider optimizing what you index or upgrading your plan for more tokens.
